I have avoided Olive Garden for years because I thought it was going downhill on quality. I went with friends and was disappointed again. I had eggplant parmagiana, which was actually not bad, it came with a side of spaghetti which was horrible and cold. I remember the salad being better, and the breadsticks being better, not a whole lot of flavor on either. Our server was pretty bad. No personality, she spoke so low that you couldn't hear her, and never brought me a refill on my soda. I remember that Olive Garden used to be a decent place. In a city with so many other good restaurants, this one will never tempt me to visit it again.

Absolutely horrible service. We waited about 15 minutes longer than we were told before being seated. It took longer than 20 minutes after being seated before we even got our salads, and the waiter was so far out of it that I think he might have been high. Not coming back here.

We were there for 45 minutes prior to getting our pasta, and then it wasn't correct. Lots of apologies without any solutions

In an attempt to find a place to eat on a Sunday, this Olive Garden was the most appealing thing showed up on the map in this barren area, which I can understand why other reviewers mentioned how pack this place is on a Saturday. They got the same dim lighting and similar layout as their other locations, and service was decent. For appetizer, we got the Bruschetta, Mussels di Napoli, and their Sampler with Calamari, Stuffed Mushroom, and Zucchini. The Bruschetta was hard as a little harder and dried than I expected. The mussels had an odd odor and somewhat "old" taste to it, which we had to send back to the kitchen. In the sampler, the zucchini was delicious, calamari had the right crunchiness to it, and I did not try the mushroom due to a personal grudge against them. For entrees, I started with the Italian chili soup and the Capellini di Mare. The Italian chili is really just regular chili with boiled pasta in it, and there was nothing special about it. I was a little worried for the capellini as one of the ingredients is mussel, but it turned out to be great when cooked in the tomato sauce, or perhaps it was cooked from a different batch. Overall, the capellini tasted decent with the seafood in the tomato sauce. The manager stopped by to check on us after we sent some food back, and she was being completely understanding about it. I suppose this Olive Garden is the best they got in this area...

May seem unnecessary to review Olive Garden, but we were so well taken care of at this Olive Garden I wanted to give them a shout out! A few points they hit: * Helped us get some seating that worked for our big group - even let us move * Keep the drinks full and the breadsticks coming! * Servers were absolutely pleasant and accommodating * The dishes were all fantastic (not a big surprise) * Had a number of great options for my wife who is gluten-free, dairy-free Kudos to them for nailing it.

My family and I have been huge fans of olive garden for years. I love their food and the whole olive garden experience. Unfortunately, my last visit did not go well at all. They sat us down to our seats and then was completely forgotten. Took almost 10 mins for them to come and get us our drinks and the server spilled it all over the table and my brother. We then had to ask to move to the next table cause of the wet table. Then it took another 10 min for our real waiter to show up and this guy was so rude. He had an attitude and really didn't try to hide it. Needless to say our food took awhile to show up. I will have to really think twice before going to this location again. What a shame cause I have been going to this franchise for a long time

Skip the pricey bland calamari. Not worth my 10bucks. I tried to salvage it and put some salt and pepper but it didnt do much. Its really the worst calamari ive had

Just got a full drink dumped down me. Waiter said the entire meal would be comped. It was not. Thanks for making me sit in my wet clothes my entire meal. I'm updating my review because I just received an apology note along with a gift card in the mail.

The service here was not fantastic. They seated us and forgot about us. The waiter hardly check back with us after he finally noticed us. The food was okay. The manager did end up giving us a free meal but this has been the 2nd time I have had a problem there.

I was contacted about my previous review and was invited back with a gift card to cover the cost! Our 2nd trip to this location was exactly what we expected of an Olive Garden experience. The food was great and the service was top notch. We will definitely be returning!

This O.G. seems to be much better than others in the valley. The food tastes a little more fresh and less frozen here. The only major drawback at this location is the ridiculous wait. Their wait list is perpetual from open to close daily. I suggest checking the bar first as it is first come first served and they offer the full menu. Also, due to the large family demographic there are always a lot of kids so be prepared to enjoy your delicious food in proximity of a screaming baby (even in the bar).

Took the family here for dinner and I was really pleased with the service! While there were a few issues with preparation, the manager made everything right and we left with full bellies and happy kids. A win for everyone!

This place was packed on a Friday night and it took about an hour to be seated but once we did the service was great and food delicious.

Knowing how much I like Olive Garden, my company gave me a gift card, so I was really excited! Thought, what can be better?! They made me wait even though restaurant was almost empty, it was sunday. I ordered pappardelle, they told me they out of clams and offered to add extra shrimps. Well they brought 4 shrimps 10 min after, and I had to remind that 3 shrimps doesn't look extra. I was done with my dry meal with no asparagus ! And server said oh yeah, your shrimps.. Thanks for letting me know that you completely forgot about my table! Left survey on their website , they didn't even bother to let know that they will try to improve! Avoid this location if you hoping to enjoy your meal and service!

Great for a chain restaurant. My favorite is the chicken parmigiana with salad accompanied by a glass of Chianti. Update: I had to reduce to 3 stars. Service was terrible tonight.

My husband and I weren't very hungry and knowing that Olive Garden portions are huge ordered one entree to share. We didn't ask for refills on the salad (so didn't eat more than what is given to one person) but when we got our bill saw we were charged for another salad (since I ate it too!) and a soda we didn't order. When we tried to use a coupon the manager had to come over to verify it. The worse part was that they kept my credit card and I had to drive 20 miles back the next day to get it. they said I forgot it but it wasn't in the bill folder. No apologies for it either. If you want to get nickled and dimed, don't' come here! This isn't the first time we've had problems with this restaurant.

I'm basing my 5 star review on my service, because we all know olive garden is always just good you can't go wrong with the salad and tour of Italy. We went on a Sunday afternoon and quickly got seated and our server derek was promptly there to get our drink order, and from there on out he was just fantastic never missing a beat, best service I've every received!!!

Quite possibly the worst dining experience of my life. Went there for my mothers bday dinner and our party of 10 consisted of pretty much the whole restaurant so they weren't busy. It took 45 minutes to order and at least 20 to get drinks. After getting our appetizers we asked what was taking so long and our waitress argued with us telling us it takes time and we ordered lots of food. I never had my drink refilled once and when we finally got our checks after a 2 hour dinner she incorrectly charged my $25 to my sisters $110 ticket. Everyone had their card swiped for a difference charge. It was a nightmare. I asked to have it reversed only to have $25 credited and recharged. It wasn't until I left and checked my bank account and called back in furious that they fixed it. No apologies or customer service. Awful through and through! I hope they canned our waitress.

OG is always a good meal. Since this one is quite new it is extremely busy! It is a welcome addition to the area though. Plenty of parking & the food is always tasty.

Here's why Olive Garden, and this one particularly, is, indeed A-OK with me... 1. You know what you're getting going in. Sure, expectations aren't what they would be if you were going to an actual Italian restaurant. But, much of the food at OG is consistently decent - for what it is. And we all have our own descriptions of that, so decide for yourself. 2. They don't grossly overcharge for the fare. I mean, I can get their seriously good Manicotti for ... oh, wait a minute. No, I can't. They revolved it right off the menu. That was not smart, OG Marketing Exec. But I CAN get the bottomless soup/salad/breadsticks lunch for $7. Which I find reasonable. Their Zuppa Toscana and the Pasta e Fagioli soups are very good. The breadsticks are okay. But, oh, add the required side of marinara in which to bathe them, and they become..mmmm...$3.25 (huh? really? that much? wow, I need to stop ordering that; firm evidence that they clearly prey on their addicted following). Oh, and probably a glass of Cavit Pinot Noir and/or an Italian Margarita...$7 each. And a (ahem) Tiramisu and/or an order of Zeppolis...$6 each. Don't judge me. 3. Our experiences here have featured well-trained servers who typically have personalities and enjoy engaging with their clientele. Sure, they may make an occasional order mistake; but they're usually the ones who are simultaneously serving eleven other tables, and sweating profusely to get it all done. So, I tend to cut a little slack there if warranted. As long as they don't sweat on my food. Here's the thing; whenever the OG is suggested, everyone just agrees to go there. Sure, no one's heart rate is elevated from excitement, but neither are anyone's wheels turning to devise a plan for getting out of it. And, even considering the so-called *indulgences* the bill isn't going to bite you in the wallet, too badly. Not like at a real Italian restaurant.

Olive Garden is a typical Italian style restaurant, while they claim to be authentic, I have had more than one native Italian say it is nothing like real Italian food. That being said, comparing it to other similar restaurants, I would say the food is just ok. Their breadsticks were way to salty. The mixed grill was very bland. The salad is a typical salad with light vinegarette. The one bright spot for me was the Zupa Toscana. It is a soup with sausage, potato slices and kale in a creamy broth. It is actually quite good. I felt that the prices are high for what you get, but that tends to be normal for this style of restaurant. Overall, the only reason I eat there is because my kids like the pasta and pizza (neither of which I thought were worth mentioning).

My wife and I went on a Saturday at about 6:00 pm. The parking totally sucked. That's not to say the lot is too small though. There were so many people there it was unbelievable. First off, one would think that being in Utah with cold weather they would have a bigger lobby, but that's not the case. I thought it was a club when I first walked in, people wall to wall with very few seats for people waiting to be seated. The wait for 2 was 45-50 minutes. Several people ahead of us gave up on waiting and left. So we ended up waiting 30 minutes but we stood the whole time. While we waited an employee passed out free servings of an appetizer, which I thought was very cool. Our waitress was great, Adrienne I believe her name was. Just the right amount of attention, very friendly, gave great suggestions, did everything you would want a waitress or waiter to do. My wife and I had the same seasonal special entree, limoncello chicken scallopini, and we had the raspberry cream soda. For dessert I had the lemon cream cake and my wife had the dolcini. Overall, the food was great. Why Olive Garden comes out with an entree that is amazing and makes it seasonal is beyond me. There is nothing seasonal about the ingredients in that entree. The limoncello chicken scallopini was the best entree I've ever had at Olive Garden and it's sad that today was the last day for it. Oh well... My dessert was great and so was my wife's (she shared a lot of it with me). Overall, the wait sucked by the rest of our experience was very good. There are not a lot of Olive Gardens in Salt Lake or Utah counties. This seems rather stupid to me, because the place was bumping. There were a lot of people that came in to pick up their take out orders. I already mentioned the place was packed. We'll definitely go back, even if the wait is obnoxiously long.

I dont know if its just my luck with Olive Gardens or that they are just not that good, service wise. The food is always good which is why I continue to go back. I would prefer that the service gets better tho. I had to ask for limes like 6 times for my water.... finally brought out by someone else... waitress seemed uninterested until it was time to give us our check and usher us out the front doors into the chilly South Jordan night.... with how good the food was, I really should have given it 3 stars, but Im a service nut... I cant do it... Sorry Olive Garden, South Jordan... Do better next time..........

Food is great!! Parking sucks and isn't the easiest to get to. On a weekend night it's so crowded and the lobby is too small to support the amount of people who come. Most of the time the servers are great but don't plan getting a quick refill.

I've never understood the appeal of this chain. It's simply not good food. I'll give it 2 stars for the salad and breadsticks, but I just haven't been able to find anything else edible on the menu.

Can I give less than 1 star? Why? Why? Why is this horrible food so popular?

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
